…check out my post last night detailing each of the starting pitchers in the corresponding section of saintsblog’s depth chart predictions to get some info on luis villarreal, the saints’ talented lefty. drucker is a 26-year old righty who played his college ball at the university of florida and the university of tennessee. drucker, 6′2” / 200, was selected in the 13th round of the 2004 amateur draft by the oakland athletics. last season, he played with the class-a stockton ports, going 9-6 with a 4.78 ERA. this is not an easy task for grand prairie in their first game as a professional organization. look for the saints to ride that deep lineup and the strong left arm of luis villarreal to an opening night win tonight…

…lets hope justin lord is ready to go by friday. brantley is a 6′4”’ 22-year old righty with rookie status from garland, texas. last year, brantley pitched for the ogden raptors, a rookie league affiliate of the los angeles dodgers. in ogden, brantley was 2-2 in 8 starts with a 5.08 ERA. brantley totaled a 2:1 strike out: walk ratio in ogden, and brings some good stuff to grand prairie…

…shepherd and his sinking fast ball will take the hill for the saints in game #3 this year, as long as either lord or ruud is healthy enough to go in game 2. mattison is a 6-foot righty from dallas, texas. he has pitched for 4 years in affiliated ball, starting in the kansas city royals organization before playing in the cleveland indians organization. mattison has reached as high as AAA, pitching 1 inning with the international league’s buffalo bisons in 2006…
