News: John Wesley Released

During tonight’s broadcast, Sean Aronson, the voice of the St. Paul Saints, remarked that John Wesley has recently been released by the New York Mets organization.  Wesley was supposed to be both a pitcher and the pitching coach for the 2008 St. Paul Saints, but Wesley was signed by the Mets before the start of the season and assigned to Single-A Port St. Lucie.

…well, i’d love for the saints to sign wesley, because he’s a talented, intelligent, and gritty 6′5” righty, but who goes?  if george wants to keep tim brown, who he apparently loves, then i just don’t see how he can fit another pitcher on the team.  tim brown has done nothing but impress with the bat and play solid defense — he certainly doesn’t deserve the short end of the stick here, but that bullpen sure has been taxed in the early going…
