News: Saltdogs Sign Mexican League Star Pellow

By Jeremy Kreisberg

Kit Pellow, who recently became only the seventh player in Mexican League history to hit for the triple crown, played his first game with the Lincoln Saltdogs tonight, batting clean-up and playing DH.  Pellow hit .385 with 34 home runs and 107 RBI for the Salttillo Saraperos this year.  Pellow, playing in his 13th professional baseball season, recorded his first stint in the Major Leagues with the Kansas City Royals in 2002, hitting .238 with one home run and five runs batted in in 63 at-bats.  Pellow also logged 11 at-bats with the Colorado Rockies in 2003, hitting .444 with one home and four RBI, before starting the 2004 season with the Rockies and hitting .240 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 59 at-bats.

…the saltdogs, who were already a very good team, just got a whole lot better.  despite losing jason jarvis to the san francisco giants organization, they’ve continued to pitch very well, and now they add pellow to a lineup featuring all-star dustin yount in the middle and former saints utility man skip adams at the top…
