Jon, Tom, I really, really appreciate your encouragement and great ideas. It seems like it'd be very useful if I were able to publish my postGame article with more stats included sooner after the game rather than later, and so that is one thing that I'll definitely strive for in the second half. I'd imagine that interviews won't be a problem to post, and pictures shouldn't be a problem either. Again, I really appreciate the advice on the blog and, most of all, I thank you guys for your continued support.

I think one of the strengths of this blog is the commentary from someone who follows the team daily. The more "insider" info you can give, the better. I agree with Jon that up-to-date stats and boxscores make following the team easier for fans, and these days w/ the internet fans expect instant access to that kind of info. Game recaps are nice, but there's alot to glean from box scores, and it's fun to follow players daily through the boxes.

Since the media in the TC basically ignore the Saints, I think this blog provides a real service. I realize it's basically the work of one person, so I hesitate to ask for more, but if it's possible, I'd like to see features like interviews and profiles here too. Since you post highlight audio, maybe audio interviews w/ players, GM, and Tsamis could also be posted occasionally? Photos from games would also be a nice touch.

Thanks for your work on the blog, and for your continued efforts to improve it.

The things I enjoy the most on the blog:

1) The "editorial" comments on top of just the results. The Saints put out their own version, but what I get from here that doesn't come from any other source is the explanation (i.e. why the Saints released Longmire instead of putting him on the DL.)

2) Any stats / box score information postgame. The Saints don't post anything beyond the score and a few highlights, nor does the American Association (which usually doesn't have full box scores until the next day sometime) - many times, the only place I can find out who got hits and who was 0-for was from this blog. (I don't know why it's difficult for the team/league to post box scores immediately, but there you go.)

Wow, that's tough on Longmire, who's been a key component for the Saints. Here's hoping they can find a way to bring him back.

Jon, that's a very good question. Longmire's release is part of the numbers game in this league -- there's a cap on the number of players you can have on the inactive list in this league, and wiith Scooter Jordan and Pichi Balet on the list already combined with the uncertainty surrounding Longmire's injury, I think the Saints believed it would be beneficial to release him and take a wait and see approach. I'm sure that if Longmire heals before the season ends, he's still a free agent, and the Saints have a roster spot available, they'll attempt to re-sign him.

I'm confused - why did the Saints release Longmire? Are they planning to re-sign him when his hand heals?
