News: Saints Sign Womack, Resser to DL

The St. Paul Saints have signed OF Josh Womack while placing Kyle Resser on the DL. Womack, a second-round pick by the Seattle Mariners, played in Triple-A with the Tacoma Rainiers, hitting .333 with a double and a triple in 12 at-bats after spending some time in Double-A with the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx.

…womack was drafted right out of high school, so despite having played six seasons in the seattle mariners organization, he’s only 24. he’s a left-handed hitter with a sweet swing who will certainly run and put the ball in play. womack, who hit a home run in his first professional game, is known for racking up hits; as a matter of fact, womack had a 22-game hitting streak in 2005 with wisconsin in the midwest league. plus, he can do this (womack is the guy you see first)…

…so yeah, he’s gonna be fun to watch. plus, marcel longmire has a bad quad and pichi balet is still on the inactive list with that broken foot, so adding an outfielder was a necessity for george tsamis…
